Javier Parysow
Led by Javier Parysow, a 30-year professional in the field of innovation, Javier has been a lecturer for over 15 years in the Master's on Innovation Management at the National University of San Martín. He is also the Argentine representative to the ISO Technical Committee 279. The objective of this Committee is the "Standardization of terminology, tools, methods, and interactions between relevant parties to drive innovation." This Technical Committee published the ISO 56000 family of standards on innovation management systems, collaborative innovation, intellectual property, ideas for innovation, among others.
Javier holds a Licenciature in Sociology from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and an MSc in European Politics and Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He received a Chevening Scholarship from the UK Foreign Office to pursue this Master's degree, as well as scholarships from the Japan International Cooperation Agency to pursue a postgraduate degree in Consulting Services for SMEs (Japanese Diagnostic and Management Methodologies) in Nagoya, Japan. He was also a Kellogg Foundation fellow for a leadership program in the Mercosur.
He advises organizations, companies, and startups on Digital Transformation and innovation strategies such as the Argentine Group of Petroleum Suppliers (GAPP), and the Clusters of Digital Economy in Comodoro Rivadavia, Jujuy, Junín, and Northern Misiones, in various Argentine provinces.
With a strong belief that innovation is transversal and fundamentally important in all activities, throughout his professional career Javier developed R&D and innovation projects in multiple sectors (such as health, metallurgy, agriculture, biotechnology, software, AI, security, social development).
He is a Knowledge Economy Coordinator registered with the Ministry of Productive Development of Argentina; also he is a member of the Interdisciplinary Center for Advanced Studies (CIEA) of the National University of Tres de Febrero (UNTREF of Argentina).
He was appointed secretary of the new Civil Association of Academics and Professionals on Transportation, Logistics, and Mobility. He has conducted studies and consultancy activities with different international organizations and Banks such as the CAF, IDB, World Bank, UNDP, ILO and UNICEF; and also with business clusters and chambers (UIA, ADIMRA, CAFAC, CAEFHA), business incubators (INIS Biotech of the Leloir Institute and INCUINTA), Technological Institutes (INTA), and government agencies. Javier developed an expertise for the identification, formulation, and management of innovation projects. He has given lectures on innovation across Latam. During this journey, he has developed a broad capacity to diagnose problems and challenges and, based on this, formulate and manage complex projects with the participation of multiple public and private stakeholders.
More recently, he served as a consultant for the Department of Infrastructure for Development Management of the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF) to develop an ecosystem of data science (DS) and AI solutions in LATAM to address gaps in Integration Logistics Corridors (ILCs). He was also a consultant for the IDB's Competitiveness, Technology, and Innovation Division on Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. He conducted a study to identify opportunities in the mining and logistics sectors to apply AI solutions.
